BITD CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON - SANTEE CA
Team Chet Huffman Motorsports (CHM) would like to officially thank all of those whose SUPERIOR PRODUCTS, TIME and SUPPORT have made this a banner year for Team CHM. This was OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED this past weekend in Henderson Nevada where Team CHM clinched the BITD OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP!2008 began as a "double dare" to Team CHM with two full-time offroad programs running for championships simultaneously in both BITD TT and defending Jerry Whelchel's CORR PRO2 #1 position.
CHM has worked a breakneck prep schedule all year long and the reward of a season completed as BITD CHAMPIONS is a reward well deserved.
Even now as the dust settles the #1 Trick Truck / Class 1400 is already stripped and in full prep-mode in the CHM shop.
With the 2009 season only two months away Team CHM is more dedicated than ever to take on all comers defending last years Parker 425 Victory and the now #1 plate.
"It's been a great season overall", said Whelchel. "We pulled out a 1st in Parker at the 425 and two 2nd's in Silver State and now Henderson. Mechanicals put us down in Primm (water pump failure) and at the Vegas to Reno a (vapor lock). Otherwise we finished every mile in every race to clinch the Championship. I'm really happy with that. Casey has really raised the stakes and the series is more popular and prestigious than ever drawing in top competitors from all the other series making the challenge very serious and very real. We look to REPEAT this accomplishment in 2009 and are once again looking forward to a great year. Once shortcouse shows back up on the radar we will be ready to tackle that again as well and "FINISH" what we started this year and that's defending that #1 plate. It's all very serious business and we are equally serious about winning".
"I'm really proud of my guys this year in pulling this out" said Chet Huffman Owner / Driver. "It's been absolutely crazy running the two programs but I wouldn't have changed if for the world!
We've had our ups and downs that's for sure in both series and the workload has been tremendous. This is something I have wanted for over thirty years but my career hasn't allowed me the time to pursue since back in the Mickey Thompson days. That's why I hired the guy who used to kick my butt in those days to come in and bring that wealth of talent and experience. It has stepped my game back up and I feel that winner's edge again. " We are looking forward to 2009 with great anticipation and determination. The parallels in the "passion to win" are now crossing over in my personal life as well as my career. I'm very happy with that and super motivated to continue. This is what I love to do more than anything"!
