CORR ROUNDS 11 AND 12 / CHULA VISTA INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY, SAN DIEGO, CA
Chet Huffman Motorsports prepared an exquisite FOX Racing Shox equipped Pro-2 for the 2007 Pro 2 Champion, Jerry Whelchel, who claimed the Round 11 Pro 2 victory marking the first win in the 2008 season. Marty Hart drove his Pro Lite truck to victory in Round 12 after finishing second to FOX sponsored, Jeff Kincaid, in Round 11. The FOX Pro Lite racers once again dominated the podium. In Round 12, Rob MacCachren claimed the top honors in Sunday's Pro 2 race and Pro 4 racer, Johnny Greaves, finished atop the podium in both rounds of racing at Chula Vista International Raceway.Pro 4 Division: 4 wheel drive race trucks unlimited horspower
Monster Energy & FOX Racing Shox sponsored Johnny Greaves captured two podium finishes with strong performances at Chula Vista International Raceway. Greaves battled door-to-door with five other truck all vying for the top spot. "Half of the battle in this class is surviving the hard contact between all the trucks. Our FOX sponsored truck was running fast out with the lead group, but we just couldn't get around Carl and Kyle for that top spot," said Greaves.
Pro 2 Division: 2 wheel drive race trucks
The Pro 2 racing was dominated by FOX backed racers throughout the weekend. Last year's champion, Jerry Whelchel, started in the first row and he jumped to an early lead after the first turn. Whelchel never looked back as MacCachren, Renezeder and Ricky Johnson charged after him. The FOX equipped Pro 2 race truck sucked up the bumps at over 100 miles per hour as Whelchel hung out the rear end on each and every corner. This victory marks the first of the season for the CORR racing veteran.
2008 CORR Pro 2 points leader, Rob MacCachren, set the track on fire as he reeled in the competition, Carl Renezeder, and made the classic Rob MacCachren pass in the final two laps before taking the checkered flag. MacCachren took the black and white winner's flag and spun circles around the start/finish line celebrating in front of more than 10,000 cheering fans. The FOX Racing Shox domination in the difficult Pro 2 field set the stage for yet another weekend of victories for FOX.
Pro Lite Division: 2 wheel drive race trucks 4 cylinder restriction
Once again, FOX Pro Lite racers dominated the podium in both Rounds 11 & 12 at Chula Vista International Raceway just outside of San Diego, California. CORR Pro Lite veterans Jeff Kincaid and Marty Hart ruled the podium's top spot with victories on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The action among the Pro Lite racers is very close and packed with some of the best racing of the series. Jeff Kincaid, a 5-time CORR Champion, continues his march towards a season championship.
Pro Buggy Division:
Pro Buggy points leader, Rob MacCachren, who also races in the Pro 2 class, finished second in Saturday's Round 11 race just in front of Larry Foddrill, a long-time FOX equipped off road racer. The two FOX racers fought off charges from several different cars to stay on the podium in the top three. MacCachren's overall series points lead continues towards another season championship as the series only has three races before its in the books forever.
