Rockstar's Rob MacCachren WINS Sunday PRO 2 WAR!

Rob Mac WORKS DOUBLE Duty at Lucas Oil Series at Miller Motorsports Park, Utah

06.29.10 Rob Mac WORKS DOUBLE Duty at Lucas Oil Series at Miller Motorsports Park, Utah

PRO 4 - 2 Podiums / Pro 2 1st in Round 8

Tooele, Utah Off road racing champion, Rob MacCachren buckled up for double duty here in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series Rounds 7 & 8. The race weekend was hosted in Tooele, Utah, 45 miles outside of the metropolitan Salt Lake City area at the world famous Miller Motorsports Park. MMP is a top-rated facility that hosts numerous racing venues both on asphalt and in the dirt.

MacCachren has been working double time over the past few days as hes jumped in and out of the Pro 4 and Pro 2 trucks preparing for Lucas Oil Off Road Racing. Rob was also featured on NBC News in the metropolitan Salt Lake City, Utah area. (See link below)

MacCachren claimed the podium twice in the ROCKSTAR / Stronghold Pro 4 over the weekend finishing second in Saturdays round 7 and third in Sundays round 8.

Rob earned the victory in his ROCKSTAR Energy/BFGoodrich Tires/Mastercraft Safety Pro 2 on Sunday after succumbing to engine failure in Saturdays round 7.

ROCKSTAR Energy Racing Pro 2 Highlights:
Sundays war in the Pro 2 field was intense as MacCachren charged to the front early from the third row. Rob battled door-to-door and bumper-to-bumper throughout the entire race, but in the end it was MacCachren who held off the entire field to take the victory. MacCachren said, This goes out to my crew who worked late into the night last night working on the truck swapping out motors and this win is especially rewarding for our team and sponsors as we continue to lead the points championship.

On Saturday, the #21 Pro 2 truck piloted by MacCachren suffered a race ending engine failure during the second half of Saturdays round 7 after racing for the lead for the first 10 laps. An unusual engine failure for the steady Rob MacCachren forced the ROCKSTAR Energy/BFGoodrich Tires/MasterCraft Safety race crew to work late into the early hours of Sunday morning preparing the #21 Ford F150 for a championship run in Sundays round 8.

MacCachren explained, Its always tough when you dont finish a race due to engine failure. Weve not had an engine failure in a very long time, but we will bounce back. The crew worked very late into the night working on variety of damage we suffered during the race.

ROCKSTAR/Stronghold Pro 4 Highlights:
In Saturdays Round 7 Pro 4 race MacCachren started on the front row and led the entire field to the mandatory caution flag before Rick Huseman and Carl Renezeder charged by. Although, that was short lived as Renezeders battle with Huseman resulted in the #17 suffering mechanical failure just after taking the white flag. MacCachren charged the #21 Pro 4 race truck to the finish line claiming the runner up spot in the competitive Unlimited Pro 4 class.

We had a solid run this afternoon. The Rockstar/Stronghold Pro 4 performed well, but weve got some testing to do moving forward. We worked really hard to stay up front and in the end it worked out pretty good taking second place. We had a heck of a race and Id like to Scott Bailey and the entire Stronghold Race Team for the opportunity to race their Pro 4. Look for good things in the future from this #21 Pro 4, said MacCachren.
Sundays Pro 4 action in round 8 of the Lucas Oil Series saw MacCachren start from the second row after he worked with the Stronghold crew to better the #21 Pro 4 suspension for Sundays big race. MacCachren outwitted the field, as they were slow out of the first turn while MacCachren rallied into the bumps gaining an advantage to the front of the pack. MacCachren held his position throughout the end of the race finishing on the podium taking third place.

It was another good run for the Rockstar/Stronghold Pro 4. Two podiums this weekend and Im glad we could give Scott Bailey and his team some great feedback on their Pro 4. Wed really like to be in the top spot at the checkered flag, but well take a podium position after the first weekend of racing this Pro 4.
