XC French Cup - Super Besse - France
Women's Elite Race: For the first edition of the Short Track race, Ccile Ravanel had a good start and an even better race, taking the win... An excellent start to the weekend that set the tone for the XCO race the next day.
Saturday morning, Ccile started out strong and quickly positioned herself in the lead. Only the young Julie Bresset managed to pass her, leaving Ccile with a satisfactory second-place finish. Next up are several main objectives for the season, including the French National Championships and the next two rounds of the World Cup (Champry and Val di Sole).
Men's Elite Race: Alexis Vuillermoz missed the Short Track win by a hair! Just coming off an intensive training camp, he knew that the next day's XCO race would be difficult. He managed to pull off a good race anyway, finishing 4th place overall and less than 1 minute behind the winner (and also winner of the U23 category). Cdric Ravanel, who was also a bit tired from recent intensive training, finished 5th. "I'm getting ready for the French Championships, and I know that I didn't suffer for nothing today."
