KENDA-PLAYBIKER at round #3 MTB World Cup in Leogang, Austria
Team Kenda-Playbiker continued this season's success at the Leogang World Cup the weekend June 19-20 in Austria.

Sean O'Connor (AUS), after a 11th place in qualifies, managed a safe and solid 27th place finish, just over 15 seconds off the lead, which places him now in 17th in the World Cup overall following the 3rd event of the season.
"I got stuck in a few big holes which cost me some time. I had a good run and a solid top 30 again. I should have some points from qualifying for the overall, so it was a good weekend. Thanks to the mechanics for keeping things running smoothly."
Meanwhile, Wyn Masters (NZL) was 34th at 17.48 seconds back. Nathan Rankin (NZL) managed to place 45th despite a crash mid course, 19.84 seconds back.
Masters made a mistake at the top, which cost him the entire way down. "I pulled all of my tear offs at the top, and I can't ride very well with my eyes closed! I think I still beat my qualifying run time, but it's really no consolation."
Rankin wasn't extremely pleased with his result for the weekend either. "The bike is running sweet, but obviously the rider isn't running so well. I'm just trying too hard and it's not paying off. I just need to cool off and spend a bit more time on the downhill bike. Downhill bike only pretty much from now on!"
Team owner Romano Favoino was pleased with where the team stands in the World Cup overall, as well as with the progress his riders are making this season.
"I am pretty satisfied about the result of the team today. All the riders have improved their position in the overall standing of the World Cup. Shaun is now 17 th and thus he will be a protected rider at next round. Wyn is close to the top 40 and Nathan is getting better after the injury he had at round one in Maribor. I am also very grateful to all our sponsors for the great products they are supplying us. Weather and track conditions were really extreme and our two mechanics Nigel Reeve and Alan Beggin had no issues in keeping bikes working perfectly."
The Kenda-Playbiker team now has a few weeks vacation to relax and train in Pila (Italy), until the next World Cup the 4 th weekend of July in Champery, Switzerland.
