Austria time: UCI World Cup and European fourcross races by Kamil Tatarkovic, Scott FDF Team

Last 10 days I spent in Austria in Leogang. First weekend there was another UCI World cup. The track was brand new and definitely it wasn't easy at the beginning.

06.28.10 Last 10 days I spent in Austria in Leogang. First weekend there was another UCI World cup. The track was brand new and definitely it wasnt easy at the beginning. Big and difficult jumps, high speed, rain, few soft spots on the track made it really hard. Anyway I loved the track so much and was having lot of fun during training (even it was raining on Friday and Saturday). Qualification run was without big mistakes and I finished on the 7th place. I was really looking forward to racing in Leogang and wanted to improve my results from previous races. But luck wasnt on my side. First run I got a puncture in the middle of the track but still made it through. Second run I hit a gate at the start and had to fight for next run all the way down. Luckily I proceed to next one. In quarter final I was second in first turn but left there a space for other rider and I got passed. I tried to get back but unfortunately I wasnt successful. Finally I finished on the 9th place which isnt that bad but I definitely wanted to do better.

After the race we stayed in Leogang all week till next race which was the last European fourcross race as a part of Out of bounds weekend. During that time we did quite lot of riding in Leogang bikepark, were enjoying the Alps and also we were getting ready for the weekend. The race was on the same track as the World cup. As it was dry and everything was hard packed the track was much faster and jumps were little bit easier. 3rd place in qualification was a good start position for the race. I won first to heats pretty easily and got into the semifinal. In semi I was on the second position after the first turn but unfortunately I missed one gate and my run was over. In the small final bad luck continued and during my second pedal stroke my chain came off and I almost went down. As I couldnt pedal any more I just cruised down to finish line. It was good time of riding in Leogang but definitely not so good time for racing. Next two weeks we have Czech national championship in fourcross and downhill and then it is time for another World cup in Italy.
