08.23.10 Three is the magic number! Josh Creamer, of the Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki squad, is the 2010 ITP Tires/Moose Racing/AMA Pro ATV MX Champion. This marks three championships in a row for Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki and FOX Racing Shox.
After attempting to defend his two previous pro titles, Dustin Wimmer had to relinquish the number one plate to his teammate, Josh Creamer. This is Creamers first title in the AMA Pro ATV division. Creamer was able to take six overall victories throughout the season and finished off the podium only once.
The 2010 season started out in a familiar fashion, with Dustin Wimmer taking an easy victory over the field in Pell City, AL. Wimmer had top five starts and simply motored away from the rest of the pack. It seemed clear which rider was most prepared for the long season.
Balance MX Park in Bowling Green, KY hosted round two of the series. After timed practice, Wimmer was the clear favorite as he looked to take control of the series for a third straight year. Sometime throughout that day, however, there was a changing of the guard. Josh Creamer picked up his first victory of the season. It was the beginning of a streak of strong finishes that would ultimately establish Creamer as the class of the field in 2010.
Late in the season, with first and second positions in the standings all but secured by the Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki teammates of Creamer and Wimmer, the battle for third place overall raged on between Josh Upperman and Motoworks/Can-Am/Fox Racing Shox rider Chad Wienen. Wienen returned to top form by the end of the series, winning the final two rounds and finishing third overall for the year.
Mushin/Fox Racing Shox rider Chase Snapp won his first ProAm title in the ProAm Production class after battling with Hetrick Racing rider Joel Hetrick all season long. Congratulations to Snapp and good luck in the Pro class next season!
In a very successful year, Fox Racing Shox riders swept the pro podium in 8 of 11 events and secured the top three positions in the championship.
