Warnert Racing’s Cliff Beasley topped the podium in the morning classes as he continued his nine race winning streak in the U2 class of the 2010 GNCC series, while in the pro ranks.
07.14.10 St. Cloud, MN (06/26/10) Warnert Racings Cliff Beasley topped the podium in the morning classes as he continued his nine race winning streak in the U2 class of the 2010 GNCC series, while in the pro ranks, Adam McGill and Chris Bithell would take top five finishes.
Snowshoe Resort was the hosting facility for round nine where the Warnert Racing team put in an amazing effort to take three class wins in the morning races. Cliff Beasley charged off the line to take the lead in his class and would hold that position from start to finish. Beasley who has been unstoppable since switching to the U2 class this season would go on to not only take his class win, but the overall morning class win as well, furthering his points lead. It feels great to take the win going into the summer break. It gets me one step closer to winning the championship, said Beasley.
4x4 Limited class racer, Michael Swift earned his win the hard way. Swift would take the 4x4 Limited holeshot, but he had to battle through bottlenecks and traffic, which caused him to fall back to third place. Determined to win, in the final lap, Swift chose creative lines to avoid a huge bottleneck and went on to take over the lead in his class and the win.
It was pretty rough out there. There was a big bottleneck at this hill climb and I figured I could either sit there and lose, or I could figure out a way around it, so I took a different line and came out ahead, stated Swift, who is the current 4x4 Limited champion and points leader.
In the 4x4 Open class, Bryan Buckhannon would lead his class from start to finish taking his seventh win of the season, and giving him a ten point lead in the championship race. Ive been doing my best out there so I can give Warnert Racing and Can-Am another championship, said Buckhannon.
In the Pro ranks, Adam McGill and Chris Bithell both put in a strong effort despite the tough track condition. McGill got off to a good start and would fight hard to work into the number three spot in his class before crossing the finish line. Going into the summer break, McGill is sitting comfortably in third place in the points chase. I fought hard through the whole race and I had another good finish, said McGill. Chris Bithell would put in an amazing charge as he would work his way from the back of the pack into the number five position before crossing the finish line. It got pretty crazy out there and I wanted to just pace myself, but I knew I couldnt if I wanted to work through the pack, so I just pushed as hard as I could and never gave up, stated Bithell, whose fifth place class finish has him sitting in a solid fifth in pro points as well.
The summer break for the GNCC will last until September 11th when the Warnert Racing team will head to Unadilla in New Berlin, NY.
