Warnert Racing's Chris Bithell mounted an incredible charge to take his first pro win of the season in the tight winding trails of North Carolina at round six of the 2010 GNCC series.
05.08.10 St. Cloud, MN Warnert Racings Chris Bithell mounted an incredible charge to take his first pro win of the season in the tight winding trails of North Carolina at round six of the 2010 GNCC series.
Bithell may have been last to head into the woods off the start, but his skills on tight trails are unmatched, and Bithell was able to work his way through traffic and into fifth place by the second lap. From there, Bithell pushed even harder. I battled a little with Chris Borich and then I got ahead of him and saw Taylor Kiser out front. I just kept reeling him in, and then I took a different line out in the field. My line was longer, but it was smoother than Kisers and I was able to get around him and hold him off, Bithell explained. I am really glad to take the win. The Warnert team did a great job with my Can-Am DS450 and everything just went really well out there, he added.
Bithells teammate, Adam McGill had a solid race as well. McGill got off to a mid-pack start and made a strong charge as he would make his way to a fourth place finish. McGills consistency this season now has him sitting in third place in the pro points race. I was really happy to see Chris get the win. Next round I plan on joining him on the podium, said McGill.
Also in the afternoon classes, Jamie Bithell was in top form, just like his older brother, and took the College A class win. This is Bithells second class win of the season that now has him sitting in the College A points lead.
In the morning classes, Cliff Beasley clinched his sixth straight win of the season in the U2 class. Beasley grabbed the holeshot and never looked back, leaving the competition in the dust. It felt great to go out there and get another win for the Warnert team. I want to win all of them this season, thats my goal, but I am going to stay focused and take it race by race, said Beasley.
Michael Swift took his fourth win of the season in the 4x4 Limited class and is holding down a comfortable points lead. I had a good day out there. I was able to take another win for the team and Im looking forward to the next round, said Swift.
4x4 Open class defending champ, Bryan Buckhannon ran another flawless race to take his fourth win of the season. It was a really good day for our team. Everything went smoothly and I was able to come out on top, stated Buckhannon, who has a nice points lead with 111 points.
The next round of the 2010 GNCC series will head to Mountain Ridge in Somerset, PA on May 22nd where Chris Bithell and Adam McGill will both be gunning for the pro podium.
