X-GAMES ADAPTIVE SUPERCROSS 1ST AND 2ND PLACE RIDE ON FOX RACING SHOX
CARSON , CA - FOX Racing Shox riders Chris Ridgeway and Mike Shultz were full of confidence coming into the Adaptive Riders Super X race after finishing 1-2 at the qualifying race held at Baja Acres in MI a few weeks ago. Chris was looking to go for a three-peat at X and Mike was showing the world what you can accomplish after a bad snowmobile accident he had eight months ago. Shultz was ready to take on a new challenge by racing his motorcycle at X and proving he has not lost his competitive drive in the process.Chris Ridgeway was the favorite coming into the event, and Mike has been training with Chris over the last few months. Mike was hoping to dethrone Chris as champion but it would require a little luck to take a win from Chris on his Suzuki RMZ 450.
As the athletes lined up for the start of their race all eyes were focused to see who would take advantage of the start and have a lead, to hopefully hold on to the end. As the gate dropped it was Chris Ridgeway on his Suzuki out to a quick lead. Mike Shultz was third. As the race wore on, Chris had gapped the field and was doing what was needed to keep out front, even jumping the huge finish line table top. Mike took advantage of a crash by the second place rider and was able to take over the spot to the end of the race. It was great to see these challenged athletes compete on the same track as their able-bodied Super X riders.
FOX Racing Shox would like to congratulate these two racers for a great finish at the X-Games. Here is to successful 2010 for both Chris and Mike.
