BIKE FAQ - 32_TALAS

After riding I notice that there is oily residue that builds up on the stanchions (commonly referenced as sliders), is this normal and should I be concerned?
You should not be concerned and this is perfectly normal although you should wipe your stanchions down after each ride to help keep the seals clean. There is a substantial amount of oil in each fork leg and the seals are designed to keep a thin film of oil on each leg while you ride. There is a maintenance schedule for the fork when the seals and oil will need to be changed, please reference your manual.

The remote cartridge is not currently available as an upgrade.

Can I use a 650B wheel?
32, 36 & 40 models of fork are designed to run a 26" wheel, and it is not recommended to run anything smaller or larger. For riders with 29" wheel FOX does offer several forks designed for that application.

Why does the lockout and rebound not work after servicing my fork?
The lockout lever may be in the incorrect position or the cartridge may need to be primed to purge any air trapped inside.

Why doesn't my fork compress after I've serviced it?

Is there a percentage of my body weight or a formula that I can use as a gauge to pressurize my Fox fork and shock?
Setting up your suspension is based on "setting sag" or measuring the distance your suspension compresses when you are resting on your bike in your riding position. Many variables ? frame design, leverage ratio, bike set up, frame size, and riding style contribute to your sag measurement so there is no formula to reference other than physically measuring.

Can I have my fork/shock custom valved to match my bike?
FOX is currently working on a custom valving program to be available spring of 2009.
