CAN-AM WARNERT RACING’S JOHN NATALIE MAKES TOP FIVE AT PLEASURE VALLEY
Armagh, PA – With only two rounds to go in the 2009 AMA ATV Motocross Championship series, the competition has begun to heat up and Can-Am Warnert Racing’s John Natalie put in a hard charge to finish fourth overall at Pleasure Valley. In moto one, Natalie was caught behind a first turn pile up, but wasted no time in his pursuit of a better position. Natalie put his head down and made an impressive charge up to the number seven spot before crossing the finish line. In the second moto, things went well for the Ironman. A better start put Natalie in position to work his way into the top five. Natalie was holding strong in fifth for most of the moto, waiting for an opportunity to present itself. As luck would have it, a tangle up between leaders Joe Byrd and Josh Creamer in the final turn of the last lap allowed Natalie to capitalize and move in the number three spot as he reached the checkered flag.
Natalie’s efforts put him in the number four spot overall for the day. “There was some really tough racing going on, but I just put my head down and stayed focused on what I needed to do,” said Natalie who will be trying hard for the podium at Red Bud.
Can-Am Warnert Racing’s Cody Miller, who was recovering from injuries at the last round was looking solid as he put in two consistent motos to finish in eight place overall for the day. Miller’s consistency has his sitting comfortably in ninth place of the points chase, but Miller plans for the podium in the final two rounds. “I want to be on the podium at least one more time before the season is over,” he said adamantly.
The competition will really be heating up at round ten, which is scheduled for August 2nd at Red Bud in Buchanan, MI, as Natalie and Miller will both be contending for the podium.
