FOX Racing Shox bests the Moto class in a point-to-point for the first time since 1973

Vildosola Racing Gives Mexico its First Baja 1000 Victory — That's Two Years in a Row that a FOX Racing Shox sponsored Team Wins the Overall 4-Wheeled Class.

FOX Racing Shox sponsored trophy truck team Vildosola Racing becomes the first Mexican team to take the overall title at the 43rd Annual Tecate SCORE Baja 1000. Gustavo Sr. and Jr. drove their #21 Ford trophy truck to the finish line in just 19 hours and 4 seconds, averaging an impressive 55.87 miles per hour — it's been a long 27 years since the last time a 4-wheeled vehicle outran a motorcycle in a point-to-point.

"It's an honor to finally be able to win a race for Mexico and for all of our fans who have been supporting us for all these years," said Gustavo Vildosola Jr. "And, it is especially great for my dad, as well. He bought this Trophy-Truck eight years ago with the dream to win a Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 overall and today we were able to fulfill that dream."

Every three years, the SCORE Baja 1000 race is run the length of the Baja Peninsula. This year the race featured a punishing 1061.69 miles that started in the Pacific Coast seaside town of Ensenada and finishing in the historic Sea of Cortez capital city of La Paz, Baja Mexico.

"Last year we took our first 4-wheel overall and now we've made it two in a row," said John Marking, VP of Offroad at FOX Racing Shox. "This one is even sweeter, as the Vildosola's won the whole thing, and that hasn't happened in a point-to-point since Bobby Ferro and Johnny Johnson did it in back in 1973."
